This is something which has been affecting me for quite a long time.
For anyone and everyone who's a student of CEG,there's an undisputed favourite for a place and it goes without saying that it's "CASSIA"(although the name would seem to be rather unfamiliar for many),the CEG canteen.While the costliest item is priced at Rs.12,there's no compromise on quality.The Ghee roast priced at Rs.7 is quite crisp and unique in its own way.The Chola Puri@ Rs.9 is a luscious delight and the 6 buck icecream has stolen the hearts of many a foodphile.If I were to provide my opinion,I would say that there's nothing in the canteen that I don't like.No wonder that it's the most visited place in the whole college.
It's also quite easily discernible that a lot of workforce is needed for the maintenance of the canteen.But what troubles me here is the very fact that most of the people who perform the cleaning tasks happen to be children,many of them aged below 14.Although I haven't interacted with anyone of them,their starved faces convey volumes and volumes everytime I happen to see them.Also,it's equally disappointing to note that none of the thousand odd people who visit the canteen daily has an iota of care for those innocent souls,who are deprived of the worldly affairs that we gleefully indulge in.Something needs to be done on this.

Good to see that you frequent the canteen and also have eyes to see the children working there. I too have noticed them but have not expressed anything about this matter. There is nothing wrong in speaking to the manager of the canteen about the children. Try it with your friends.
