On reading this u will feel that glamour is restricted to the title alone. SIM-RAN stands for Satellite IMaging for RAil Navigation(?). This is a recent project that is being designed to track trains with respect to their time and speed. The project is expected to reach the public by March 2008. This project is funded by the budget of our RAILWAY MINISTER and is estimated to be 2 crore. It uses the GPS, GIS, RFID TECHNOLOGIES as its back up. This project is being developed by Research and Design & Standardisation Org. along with IIT,KANPUR. This project aims at giving details to public thru SMS, Internet, IVRS. GIRISH KARNAD

Girish Raghunath Karnad is a contemporary writer, playwright, actor and movie director in Kannada language. He is the latest one among seven recipients of Jnanpith Award for Kannada the highest literary honour conferred in India. For four decades, Karnad has been composing plays, often using history and mythology to tackle contemporary issues. He is also active in the world of Indian cinema working as an actor, director and Screenwriter earning numerous awards along the way. He was conferred Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan by Government of India.
